Great experience with Dimitri and the crew!

We had a great time diving in Amorgos with Dimitri, the crew was great to help us set up a fun dive and a first time dive. The young lady at the desk spoke perfect French and Dimitri helped us have a great time in security.

We definitely recommend them for your dive on the island.

    Deep Blue

A very nice friendly proffesional and safety minded crew that makes your dives truly enjoyable. October wheather is a little bit unpredictable but the dives are still amazing with very few other divers. One of My Malin reasons for comming to Amorgos.

    The great big blue

I´m so happy i choose to do my Open Water on Amorgos Diving Center (June -15). Felt completely safe with my instructor and the rest of the team. Fun, thrilling, amazing and so much fun!!! Got back a second time this summer to do the Advance Open Water as well in September. Beautiful underwater nature at the dive sites, with caves and rocks. And the ocean is so blue and the visibility in the water goes on forever… Love this place 🙂

Incredible Diving Experience in the Greek Islands

Have just taken a PADI Open Water Diver course at Amorgos Diving Centre in Aegiali and can’t recommend it highly enough. I had never dived before but Dimitris and the team all made me feel really comfortable and part of the family right from the start. Speaking to the more experienced divers who were with us on the short boat trips to stunning and easily accessible dive sites, it is clear that the service is amazing all round. Will definitely be back to continue my diving journey in Amorgos!

Frequently asked questions

How do I learn to scuba dive?

To learn how to scuba dive you need to register for a beginner course, do some at home academic learning using comprehensive SSI online learning materials. This will be complemented by in person academic and pool sessions to teach you all about the scuba equipment use, safety rules and information and any above and underwater skills needed to become a comfortable diver.

How long does it take to get certified?

The SSI Open Water Diver course generally takes 3-4 days but it is flexible and performance based, which means the schedule of your course can be organized to best fit your schedule and progress through the course.

If you don’t have the time, SSI Scuba Diver is a limited certification that only takes 2 days!

How much do scuba lessons cost?

The full SSI Open Water Diver course with us costs 410€ and includes the use of all academic materials and scuba equipment needed.

Prices differ depending on the program, for specific interest look at the relevant section of the website or contact us directly.

What gear will I need to scuba dive?

All the scuba gear needed for the course will be provided for you. This includes a mask, snorkel, fins, a buoyancy compensating jacket, a scuba tank, regulator set for breathing, instrumentation for knowing your depth and air levels, a weight system as well as any weather appropriate thermal protection.

You just need to bring your swimsuit to wear under the wetsuit and a towel for later.

Do I have to be a good swimmer to scuba dive?

Some swimming ability is required. You need to have basic swimming skills to be able to swim a couple hundred meters and be able to comfortably maintain yourself in the water by floating/treading water for 10 minutes.

Where can I scuba dive?

Once you have completed the SSI Open Water Diver course you will be certified to dive worldwide. We recommend using the SSI website/App to find the dive shops and centers most fit to your needs.

Completing the Advanced Adventurer program or any full SSI speciality course can extend the range of diving conditions and limits you can dive in.
